Wrap Up Summer Camp 2024

Dear Friends and Supporters,

I am not sure that I can totally express properly how wonderful the summer camp program went this year.  First off, the campers very much enjoyed looking at passages in the book of Revelation that expressed the many reasons that we need to be celebrating that fact that we have a relationship with God through Christ and how we are looking forward to His coming return to make all things new in the Kingdom of God. To my knowledge, we had 36 campers come to Christ this summer.  One reason for that number is that we had counselors on the Camp Kainos Program and the Day Camp Program that not only taught the campers the gospel but they also lived it out for them to plainly see.

I wanted to publicly thank the Camp Kainos staff for all that they did to make the campers experience a time of inspiration and fun.  The times of singing in the meeting room and around the campfire were awesome (not to mention loud). The campers seemed to really enjoy our theme song “White Horse” because it was one of the more active songs we have done in a long time, having a great melody, shouting, and motions. Many thanks to  Heidi Coleman, Alyssa Lake, Chloe Donaldson, Mandy Groves, Teague Mendez, Tate Morley, and Teves Newlin. These guys poured their hearts and souls into the campers and into the Bible times. I cannot state how much I miss them. They are like family and I love each of them with my whole heart!  Thanks Guys!

I will be taking some time off away from the camp in September to take a sort of sabbatical, mainly to rest and visit with friends and family in the south, but to also pray about the future and where God would have me go when it comes time for me to retire. When I return from my time away, I will enjoy getting back into the swing of things with the retreat groups and playing in a couple of local worship bands (Calvary Bible Church and Memorial Heights Baptist Church).  While I am away, I will spend a few days in Nashville TN to participate in the annual Tommy Emmanuel Guitar Camp. It will be my third time attending. As much as like reconnecting with Tommy, another of my guitar heroes will be there as an instructor. His name is Doyle Dykes. Not only is a world class guitar player, he deeply loves the Lord.

Thanks so much for the prayer support and also the financial support that the Lord provides through wonderful faithful people like yourself.  Your partnership with me and the ministry of New Life Bible Camp is a great source of blessing to me.  God bless you all!
